Air Meter Fault or accelerator potentiometer fault?
Recently put the car in for a service and a fault has been been picked up and it could be either; faulty airmeter or faulty accelerator potentiometer. Both faults were flaged on the computer diagnostics.
The actual problem with the car is it losses all power in drive when reving over 4500rpm. It can free rev over 4500rpm when not in drive. Also when drinving the car in the morning the acceleration is rough and has a poor response for the first 5 mins. of driving. This is worse when it has been raining.
Has anyone had a problem with either of the above (airmeter or potentiometer) and what were your symptoms?
Any help would be appricated as the I might get one of the parts replaced and it might make no difference so I will end up spending double to replace the other part.
