I already have a GTA version of the GTV! Well, it may as well be, some well thought out modifications now give me 252bhp, a top speed of 155mph and a 0-60 in, wait for it, 5.9 seconds - What? Yep, we timed it on a drag strip at the weekend, 10 runs, averaged 5.9 seconds. Surprised me, I really wasn't expecting it to be that fast.
Anyway, I could go the whole hog and go with the Autodelta 3.7L conversion, I wonder how fast 320 horses would make my car? The only thing that scares me is whether or not it will handle all that power, currently 252bhp is just lovely, I don't want to spoil it. As for it being a Tipo, well the chassis did start out life underneath the Tipo, just like the 911 chassis started out in life underneath the VW Beetle. Trust me, if you were to compare the GTV chassis with a Tipo chassis you wouldn't find very many simmilarities...
Oh, and it looks great as it is - Alfa should leave the proposed phase III restyle (big grille, six lights - Yuk) well alone and focus on other things with the phase III, better seats, better build quality, a decent stereo and very subtle restyling, a bit like this:
Fiat Coupe killer!!
