I had a similar problem with my 97 GTV. If you stalled it (and at the time I was teaching my partner how to drive) it would not start.
Turned out to be a problem under the bonnet. If you popped the bonnet, hopped out of the car with a screwdriver, tapped strategically at the right place, all would be right again (seriously, no joke
). I can’t remember what the faulty bit was, but I think it was something to do with airflow alright.
I am dropping into my mechanic later and will ask him what it was.
Took me about three weeks to get around to getting it fixed, and of course there was plenty of stalling happening at the time! The good thing is, now my partner never, ever, EVER stalls a car..!! Bad thing is I probably seriously damaged Alfa’s reliability record around Dublin, as every time we stalled I had to pop the bonnet, hop out with a screwdriver, quick tap, jump back in, and we were off again….
And I know, I know, what was I thinking letting her learn to drive in my GTV….
Don’t worry, I got paid in kind……
