Rough cost of clutch change???

Hi I was wondering if anyone had replaced the clutch on a V6 GTV recently?

If so how much did you end up paying.

Thanks in advance.

Autodata list the fitting time as 7 hours plus the cost of the clutch and possibly fluids

at 35 an hour the labour would be about 250 plus parts

I'd budget for a new flywheel too. Not obvious that it needs changing until the clutch is getting done and it can be looked at but quite often the standard duel mass type fails. I ended up having a single mass GTA clutch, GTA flywheel and Q2 fitted....just over 1000.

35 per hour? I think I'll move house! Labour in the affluent S.E. for the same job approx. 500, parts and lubricants about 750.
This is for GTA flywheel, clutch, Q2, bearings etc etc., all from an indie who is in the list of recommended on this site.
End result, no money but a HUGE change to the car!

P.S. Don't forget to add VAT.

second the flywheel change. 9 out of 10 its dual mass and the reccomendation of changing that too is high. can buy a solid kit and flywheel for about 425 inc vat from eb spares and factor in the labour...

I had it done on my TS last July, charged me 70 p/h as the mechanic charged double his usual rate but knocked the tim down somehow, maybe he used a couple folk to help him with the job. But the total labour charge was only around 250 + 200 for the clutch so it worked out pretty well.
