When I first got the car, the clutch did feel very heavy to me, but then at the time I also had an injured and weakened left leg, so I think the effect for me was exagerated.
Since then, I just got used to it and over time it felt normal to me (also my leg was strengthening so the effect would be reduced). I was
concerned at first so I got a friend, who used to be a rally car test driver, to test the clutch. He reckoned it was fine and just what would be expected from an Italian sports car.
When I say I just got used to it, I mean it really felt perfectly fine to me when I dropped it off. This is like the worst nightmare possible for getting your car serviced. It comes back worse than when you took it in.
I'll be honest - I never thrash it in first gear, so you could say I have been gentle on the clutch. My launch control is terrible in a car. I'm more used to motorbikes when it's effortless.
As soon as I sat in the car at the garage and pushed the clutch in it felt odd, but then I though it was my seating position.
wrt to the possible oil on the plates scenario, I've had a suggestion to try and burn it off by slipping the clutch for 10-20s with the handbrake on. Any thoughts?
