Damaged Bumper - Plastic welding?

Anybody had any experience welding plastic bumpers?

I managed to neatly puncture a fist sized hole in my rear bumper by reversing into my hitched trailer (yes I tow with my GTV) and jack-knifing it!

I'm keeping an eye out for metallic blue gtv's for scrap but its very tempting to have a go repairing it myself.

Also, has anyone tried to respray parts of their met blue body? I hear it can be a poor match despite being the correct colour code etc.

Its their trade to spray cars, usually the old guys are the best at it
I wouldnt try fade the color in, I would repair the hole and spray the whole
rear bumper and it should be good.
Either way its going to look better than a hole in the back!
