"Burnt valves doesn't affect valveguides".
If your valves become bent (knackered cambelt) the valveguides can suffer damage, and when not done properly, fitting new valveguides, can cause cracks in the cylinder head.
I might know something that U guys dont. The twinspark cylinderheads have been known to crack on cylinder number two, and in some cases causing an oilleak into the cylinder, with a heavy oilconsumption as a result, The sparkplugs will eventually become so dirty that the engine will only run on three cylinders.
In my opinion, this fault is known to Alfa, and they should make a substantial contribution here.
All the best
