Just thought you may be interested to know that 2 local dealerships rang me up during this last week asking me if I wanted to sell the Spider! It's not actually for sale, but they can't get used ones in to meet demand, so they thought they'd try their luck. Mine's a 2.0 '97 P reg. with 44k miles. What would be a sensible offer from them if I decide to check out their offer? I know it would be lower than if I tried to sell pirvately. Has this happened to anyone else?
P.S Don't get offended if I dont reply for a week or two. I'm off to France on holiday with the car (of course) just hope I remeber which way to go round roundabouts!!
BTW Cheeky ,Were you on the A5 between Dunstable and MK on Sunday around midday? If it was you we were in the red Spider coming from the opposite direction, that waved.Saw a couple of other nice Spiders out on Sunday too,all with the roof down unlike those wusses that drive MGFs!
The 4 grand Spider was a LHD, 95, M, non Lusso. It had done 170,000 km with full Alfa history. It was a bit scruffy, would probably need a new hood but wasn't too bad - drove like a tupperware box though!
RHD cars with 70000 miles plus on an N or P trade at £5-7,000 depending on spec, condition etc. They rarely retail at less than £7000 as the reconditioning needed is usually quite high.
