Has anyone fitted Eibach springs to a 2.0GTV and if so, how much clearance was there underneath the car???
I need to consider ordering some but I do not want to be in the same situation as with the G-Max springs which appear to have dropped the car by 65m as opposed to the indicated 40mm!! (hence the scrapped but well-'ard looks!)
I have fitted Eibach springs with stock dampers. The clearance of underneath is approx. 80mm. I mean it's the clearance between the front pipe (lowest point) and the load. The size of tyre is 215/45-17.
80mm of clearance??? I've got Eibachs fitted with stock dampers and the clearance between the bottom of the plastic sump-guard and the road is minimal... I am now used to the scraping noise of the plastic guard when I dirve over un-even camber roads. The tyres are 215/35/18.
It looks the mutts-nutts though and the progressive nature of the springs works really really well... the handling just tightens up round corners and slingshots you through the apex... not a patch on my old Elise but for a heavy front-engined car, it is very impressive.
BTW. the wheels are Team Dynamics Diabolo which are one of the few mutli-spoke designs that will bolt straight without special wheelnuts.
Yah, that's true. Maybe because of the front pipe from turbine. (I guess). As far as I saw also my friend's ones (with Eibach or Merueve), almost of all pipes got injured. The lowest is ...10mm clearance....
Re: Does anyone have Eibach sports-springs fitted?
I've got Eibachs, put them on as soon as I bought the car, had them on my last car and I wouldn't put anything else on!
Found that the stock dampers despite being brand new are far too soft for the springs though, bouncy over bumps and uncontrolled roll on direction changes, suggest they're fitted with uprated shocks for best results as I will be doing shortly....after I have bothered to fit my poly bushes !!
