Loud Knocking from engine....any advice?

Hi guys,

So I started the car 3 nights ago and got half way down the street and I could hear a loud knocking coming from under my feet/engine/wheels.

It sounded almost the same as what my old toyota sounded like when the CV/Drive shafts were broken.

After my accident last saturday my insurance company has it at a mechanic at the moment trying to find out whats wrong and if it had anything to do with the accident. (hope they say yes so I don't have to pay for this)

I checked the oil, (had a $1000 service with oil change a month ago) and the alfa dipstick is so strange, it is so hard to get in or out, I could not see any oil on it....but it did scrape the entire time i was pulling it out so thats not 100% correct, my oil light hasn't come on and the engine temp is usually under 90 degrees.....so what could this be? it sounds like both CV's are broken but their not.....It only happends when the car is in motion.

Sorry for rambling......hope you guys have some advice...
