I think I paid £250 for my chip, but that was with a leak down test for the engine, oil and filter change and new plugs.
As for engine tuning/response, the first thing that I think you ought to do, is make it easier for the engine to breathe, i.e. reduce exhaust back pressure and reduce induction restictions. Once these two things have been fixed, then look at re-chipping.
Sounds like you have gone as far as you want with regards to the exhaust, so I would work on the induction.
If that gives you what you want from the car, then leave it at that. If you feel you want more, get the car re-chipped. BUT - I would recommend that you get the car setup on a rolling road. This ensures that the chip is optimised for your car, with the modifications that you have already made.
