I wouldn't even considor Alloy braces, they may be lighter and look nicer, but they are more flexible and the exercise here is trying to stiffen up the front of the car.
The main factor I would use whilst deciding which one to get would be a personal recommendation. Which one have people had the least amount of bother fitting. I think the quality/strength of the OMP/Sparco/MOMO ones is going to be pretty similar. I've got a Sparco brace, which just about fitted with no probs, and out of the 3 I'd go for another Sparco or an OMP one.
As for a special tool to undo the top bolts. The top mount which thet screw into is just a strengthening plate which has threaded holes into which the bolts fit into. Nothing difficult about undoing them. If you can wield a spanner you can pretty much fit one.
