Can't wait!!! But....

Good day,

This is my first post so sorry if I sound stupid. I am yet to have my GTV delivered, I have driven one and it is a great car! That's why I bought one I am hearing a lot of horror stories about the oil consumption on these cars that have me a little worried I must say. Is it normal for the car to use up the oil in such large quantities?

One last thing I have ordered the car with the GTV CUP spoilers and the 17" rims... Would a strut brace make a lot of difference in the handeling of the car. Saw a cheap one at Auto Delta think it's worth it?

Cheers and thanks in advance!

Hi there and welcome to Alfaowner.
Could always use more GTV and Spider owners in here! Anyway ,yes all Alfas seem to have an appetite for oil.Check your oil as part of your car care regime every week and you`ll be fine. The reccomended oil is Selenia if you can get it in Malta,if not a good quality semi synthetic 10w-40 spec.
Aisha on this site has a GTV V6 on which, hes fitted a strut brace and you can find details of this on his website.
Have fun with it. Regards P

Welcome quickshift. Pete, you're just too darn quick. Pete's our resident reference bod.
An update on the strut brace. The bonnet now pops up fine without the need for force! It seems to have adjusted to life with the strut. Does the strut help? I still dont know but those bigger wheels and tyres do, without a doubt.

Hey guys thanks for the help. I will invest in the strut brace within the first few weeks that I have the car. Great stuff!!!

Thanks again
