Me bits fallen off

My car is starting to grip my s**t!

Driving home (slowly for once) and !bang!, the battery light comes on and the steering goes rock solid. Feel bloody lucky I wasnt caning it.

Anyway what happened was the bolt that holds the alternator belt sheered off and I found the tensioner back up the road.

My question is 'How the ****** do I get the rest of the bolt out of the hole??????
As I dont want to have to put it in the garage to get butchered.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Please help as I'm having to drive the missus's vectra till I fix it.

The only thing I can think of and IF there's enough room to get in there is to drill it out

Cheers Kenny,

got the son of a bi*ch.

Bought some useful tools called easy outs. Drill a little hole and wind them anti clockwise into the bolt. Sorted in 5 mins.

Lots of torque required to wind it back though.

Back on the road with only a £12 dent in the pocket.

Thats exaclty what I need after jamming a bolt shank in a strut brace fitting accident that provided much amusement for others a while back. Where did you get it jefro and how much?

Hi !

Same thing happened to me two weeks ago. Lost servo and cooling at 170km/h in a left turn :-(

I drive a GTV V6 Turbo. Had the additional problem that i could not stop the car right where it happened, had to drive an additional 2 miles. The motor did alright though, even though it was heating up pretty quickly.

The repairs were done on guarantee so there was no cost involved, still having my gtv sit idle for a week hurts...
