Re: To the Bodyshop! Spoiler or no spoiler?
Yeah, think they have Toyota there now too. When they were just 'Hampstead Crash Repair' they had a good reputation for body repairs as that's all they did, but who knows if they still have the same sprayers 4-5 years down the line?
I had a my car at three garages in a month a couple of years back (Alfa Aid for the service, Twinspark for paint and local garage in Winchmore Hill for brakes) and after that lot I saw I had a long dent at the bottom of the nearside rear wing, but it looked like it had been buffed out to make it less obvious. I suspected TS as there is so little space in their garage and the fact it looked like it had been buffed, so took the car there to speak with them about it but got nowhere as I had no proof... Thankfully AA's dentmaster guy got it out perfectly...
Anyways, AA do use a specific bodyshop. fantom alfa on here has used them (through AA) and IIRC wasn't happy with the delays on the job, but think I remember him being happy with the work. Maybe PM him for his thoughts.
All I can say is impress upon whoever you use that you're fussy and have good attention to detail and need a perfect job, anything less and you'll want it doing again. Many bodyshops that do insurance work just trot out average jobs because Joe Average can't tell the difference, and you don't want that sort of job.
