Sounds like a loved car! I pamper mine too but still drive it like it likes to be driven! Read another post from you about engine differences, mine is the 155bhp model, didn't know they had revised the engine for 2001. Performance is spirited but you can feel it is a heavy car from standstill. Have just looked on the autodelta site and there are some interesting products. Does anyone know anyone who has had the turbo conversion giving over 200bhp??!
What about the hard top? I have to keep mine outside and the roof spends far more time wet than dry. But £1800 is too much! Is your back window scratched? Autoglym do a fabric hood cleaner and protector so that there is a wax effect and water just beads off the roof.
Where do you buy your oil, how much is it and what rating?
On the music front..
Mine has a 6 disc autochanger which is handy as the head unit is only cassette but speakers really need changing as we know.
There are definately loads of gtvs about in comparison, hardly any spiders round my neck of the woods. Wouldn't mind a test drive in the 3 litre v6, anyone on this forum got one?Had a bit of a hairy moment cornering the other day on wet leaves where the back started to go, again felt a bit heavy but still controllable - then again I do share a very fast and chuckable mini aswell! I will have to sell the mini as no time money or room to have both so I will be 100% spider only in the new year. Reliability seems fine, just the odd niggle as discussed, shame about rattles in the interior as it is a nice classy place to be, lovely and warm is a bonus in this weather. I am definately a fan of the looks and individuality, hence always find time to wash it - at least every 2 weeks, more when it's summer, the wheels are quite a pain to clean though, and the previous owner was not the best at parking!
Anyway, after a hard day, if the roof is dry, and it's not freezing, it goes down and it is a good way to unwind. Do you have a wind deflector?
As you say, if you can put up with a few niggles and blame it on italian character then it is a very enjoyable car to own, how long do you reckon you will keep yours?
