Re: Apologies. Fuel economy. Boring!
Decided to join in the survey after my last fill up and calculating 25.5mpg! In my defence, it had been running particularly well (at last) after servicing and suspension work at Autolusso, and I've been giving it some serious stick!
Haven't finished a tank in "economy mode" yet, but there's one possible side effect I've noticed ...
Previously, idling was a little random. Revs would often "bounce" between 1500 and 0, or just sit at 1200 or so. A flick of the accelerator would bring it down, but then it would bounce.
But now after half a tank in economy mode, idling is spot on - drops to 1000 or 800 on coming to a halt, and low rev driving in general seems much smoother.
Could the ECU simply be learning how to drive smoothly again after a bout of thrashing? Would the poor idling be as a result of it compensating for an agressive driving style?
