Please remember though Gary that the Eibach prokit for the 916 Alfas only lowers by 20mm. This is not a considerable drop compared to other after-market suppliers, or indeed Eibach's prokit drop for the 156 of 30mm from 'standard'. I think all you say is true with regard to camber etc but certainly in the case of my TS the springs (and Koni dampers) have brought signficant gains in handling and even ride comfort.
I also still maintain that the oe springs for the 916 V6 cars are the best way forward. I am not completely convinced that Eibach got the springs right for these V6 Alfas compared to the TS/JTS ones.
Talking of road v track though is interesting. Let's face it a combo such as Eibach 20mm drop and Koni sports on the softest setting is really a modest upgrade from oe. It pales when the more serious stuff such as coliovers are considered. It's all relative but in my experience the Eibach/Koni set-up works at least on the TS, and provides both comfort and improved handling. But as said before, everything must be executed correctly for it to all work to best advantage.
