Re: MAF help please
Oh dear oh dear it all gets worse........... Im now reminded why I swore I would never, ever again work on a car... As there was nack all space to even see anything I took all the rubber air ducting off, this came off in 2 pieces once the factory jubilees were taken off (ie destroyed.. cue B&Q for new jubilees, tho I still cant get the pieces back together...) So I get to the maf and the 3 10mil screws are all rusted and sheared on, I manage to destroy them further despite delicqte use of a 10 mil socket...with no luck in getting the maf off. So I decide to take the whole air box off so I can destroy the nuts easier on bench. Then I find my airbox is held down by one bolt so I take this off... Does this make the airbox any easier to remove? No. There is just too much stuff in the way for it to be removable, certainly without removing radiator hoses, and certainly not by a man of my mechanical 'talent'.... HOW does anyone ever change an air filter on this car????? Anyway I further find that the 'sandwich' that holds the airbox together also has only 1 bolt left, the others long since sheared and missing, so I am sure that dirty air is getting in even tho it feels fairly tight I dont want to destroy a brand new maf....
Car in bits in garage and me very ****ed off..... Never again. Im not even changing a tyre valve cap from now on....
