GTV rear seat removal

My son dropped a tiny piece of LEGO on the rear seat of my GTV and it dropped down where the seat belt receiver is. It was one of his favourite bits (Indiana Jones' whip!) and he wants it back.

Thing is... I've sold the car and the owner is taking it on Wednesday. I can't see how to remove the seat base and also I don't want to do anything to damage it.

I can see a bolt/plate under the seat base facing forward in the footwell. I took it off but nothing was budging.... but I don't want to force anything.

Any tips?

Re: GTV rear seat removal

There are two nuts facing the front seats holding the seat, one on each side. Probably the same as the one you already mentioned. unscrew both nuts totally then slide the metal part off the bolts, out and up, so they are "free". then lift the front end of the seat and pull it forwards and slightly uppwards at the same time.

As above but remember that the seat may need a screwdriver behind the lug to "flick" it off the bolt. Dead easy and you wont damage it...promise!

I think you can order individual lego bits for a couple of quid. You could when I was a kid anyway, but I think you might have to be a member of the Lego club or something

Might be easier than stripping the interior just before you sell the car.

Pud makes a good point; however, I also need to remove the rear seats 'cos I need to fit a new plastic bit (the bit between the 2 seats) so if anyone can explain how to do it
