Re: Spider engine woes!!
I think buying another vehicle to remove the engine and then have to put new belts on, plugs, oil, check the bottom end etc etc you may as well just have the cars original engine rebuilt and get at least a years warranty.
Not wanting to rain on anyones parade, but look for a car cheap on ebay, pay for someone to collect it or even drive miles to collect it, (very hard to do when your own car is knackered!) Then get it home, (remember you now have to insure any vehicle you buy and sorn it)
Then remove the engine, strip it, buy the parts, remove your engine swop the bits over, fit it, Sounds like a load of hassle to save a few quid and not even get a warranty ???
Or the alternative phone a garage that specialises in Alfa Engines, get a recon or have your own engine rebuilt, some even collect your car for free, fit for free and offer up to 5 years warranty ?? all for less than £1200
sounds like a no brainer to me (but then i would say that wouldnt i !!!)
