Hi there, just a quick advice thread...
A couple of months ago I had the GTV into Kirkhill autos to get a handling issue sorted.
It turned out to be loose "steering rack locating bolts" and tracking woes. This was sorted and the handling difference was night and day, improvement galore.
Anyway they also noted:
"N/S/F track rod end worn / Both N/S/R and O/S/R spring carrier bushes worn"
Could anyway provide some sort of information on what that
Doesn't make much sense to a mechanical idiot like myself, I assume the carriers are just that? What holds the bushes?
They said it wasn't urgent but it would need done at some point, also said it would hit the wallet parts-wise... I figure I'll get it done before the Summer just to get it out the way.
It may have been the stuff I had in the boot but I'm sure I heard a couple of knocks when setting off a couple of times... [/paranoia]
Whilst this is being done is there anything I should be looking at getting done suspension-wise? Also, are these parts I'd be better off ordering myself?
Thanks for any help!
