Re: Engine Bay Cleaning
It can be done but requires some care and best done yourself.
Get some degreaser from a good motorfactor, you'll find that they'll sell you a 5 litre can for same price that Halfrauds ask for a tiny bottle. A toothbrush or a dishwashing brush is ideal for applying, as long as your other half doesn't spot you knicking it.
Totally avoid the area round the rocker box as its full of gubins that you don't want to get wet and it won't drain either. Don't be afaid to use some tape to mask around sensitive bits. A can of WD40 is also handy.
Its best done with the undertray off, partly so you can clean it properly but also so you can wash the lower half of the engine, which tends to be the dirtiest.
Get everything nice and warm first so that the water eveporates off, and give her a decent run after.
