I kind of agree with the mini-Ferrari tag. The GTV does have that exotica look that supercars have, and it does also have similar qualities to a Ferrari, albeit in lesser doses: great looks, compromised interior space, needs proper maintenance, can be very costly if you're unlucky, has good performance, thirsty engine, big bills, and of course it's Italian. For me it's a much
cheaper, fwd, sports car that feels like it's some sort of relation to Ferrari (there must be at least one button or air vent that's common to the GTV and a 355/360!). I was in a P plate 355 the other w/e, and still think the 'mini' tag fits the V6 GTV.
Let me just clarify that I'm not a dreamer and don't think the GTV is in the same league as any Fezza, I wouldn't kid myself or anyone else of that. However, if someone would love a Ferrari but are £10k, £20k, £50k+ short of the 308/328/348/355/360 they would like, they can pretend a little in a 3.0 GTV
And let me also clarify that my GTV isn't a substitute for a Ferrari in my case, I'm more than happy with what it gives me.
(for the record I'm around £35k short of the 16k miles, P-plate 355... FERRARI F355 GTS- Auto Trader UK
