Immobiliser/Insurance question

Time to renew the insurance on the Spider.

The quote is superb but the small print states "cover is provided on the understanding that it is fitted with an approved immobiliser, which is in good working order and activated at the time of a theft"

(are n't insurers great? - if it was in good working order and activated just what are the chances of a theft....)

Now I thought the Spider came with an immobiliser as standard (mine is a phase 2 2001 TS model). Can anyone confirm?

I would imagine that an OE immobiliser would be approved by definition.

Re: Immobiliser/Insurance question

Yes, the Immobilizer is the " CODE " system and is a standard factory fit on the 916 cars.

Don't get confused with Immbolizer and Alarm, two different things. I believe that the alarm, usually a Meta unit, was fitted by the UK importers and on a fair few cars this has been removed as it has been known to give problems.
