Alfa 147 2.0 TS

TS 2.0ltr engine

Is the TS 2.0ltr engine fitted in a w.reg and r.reg GTV the same unit as fitted in the 147 and are they subject to early cambelt failure and need changing every 30000 miles.

Re: TS 2.0ltr engine

when they first come out was recommended 6 years or 60000,

but then they had alot of problems with those engines cambelt snapping so on the cf2 engines which is the phase 2 gtv and the cf3 engine phase 3 gtv, they changed it to 3 years or 36000 which ever came first,

make sure you do your variator with the belts if you need it done soon

same as the 147 engines.

Re: TS 2.0ltr engine

The engine is basically the same in all GTV's and 147, although earlier TS engines have a different cam cover and inlet manifold. And yes they all need the belts changing every 36,000 miles or 3 years whichever comes first.

I would do the variator too at the change as it only adds 15 mins or so labour.
