Hi I'm hoping someone can help please
I have a P reg GTV with 60000 miles on clock. I only ever do long journeys, 200 miles at a time, and since May had no probs. However, something weird is happening and it's un-nerving me, I'm hoping someone on here can give me a clue what may be the problem
The car has started feeling really unstable intermittently. Usually when going round long sweeping left hand bends at 60+ mph. All of a sudden the steering wheel seems to jump out of my hands (as though it's been tugged an inch or so) and the car feels as though it's going where it wants to. If I accelerate (not a natural reaction to such a problem), it seems to rectify, but if I lift off the throttle it gets worse, to the point where I feel as though I am fighting with it to make it go where I want.
I mentioned this to my son who took it out for a spin but couldn't replicate the problem, it only seems to happen after a long run.
Also, this morning on my regular 200 mile trip to work, when I went round a roundabout it started juddering to the point where I thought the wheels were going to fall off!
I also noticed at the weekend that one front tyre is unevenly worn, although it had new tyres recently and the tracking was done at the same time.
I'm really uneasy driving it, I'm trying to establish whether this is the sign of something worn that needs replacing, or a major problem which means I shouldn't drive it any more
Any ideas would be welcomed please
