Re: Brakes for track day
Some people have reported EBC pad material coming away from the backing which is a worry, but in car's I've been in with them fitted they seem to work well in green and red stuff variants from cold and when used heavily, particularly when used with black diamond disks, although there have been reports of the drilled versions of these cracking around the holes so go for countersunk rather than drilled on the front wherer the heat build up is most.
I use OMP pads, which are a little noisy (using grooved and countersunk disks too though) but grip hard and create surprisingly little dust compared to others I've used. If you go for the track oriented 971C type, you can also tell your mates you've got carbon friction materials. Braided lines and 5.1 fluid make the pedal much firmer and more direct which gives you confidence in the rest of the system.
