Well I think the decision's made. I'm gonna be away from Alfas for a while but it's only a matter of time until I pick up another V6. I've looked at this from every angle and I'm not gonna be happy in an Alfa without that Arese lump under the bonnet, in spite of the fact that I'm well aware the Gtv TS has sublime handling.
I simply cannot afford to insure a V6 now. The next Alfa I own is almost certainly gonna be a 147 GTA but they're out of my budget for the moment and I've mentioned the insurance issue.
So this'll be an unpopular decision but with the money situation and the lack of sales at work, I think the best thing I can do in terms of a compromise between economy and a bit of fun is a Golf V6 4Motion. It's not an Alfa and I don't see myself falling in love with it but let's face it - it's more spacious, damn near as fast, has AWD traction and is actually a hoot to drive.
So forgive me but like I said, my Gtv is not gonna be the last Alfa I'll own.
There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that can read binary, and those who can't.
Driving: Vela Blue V6 Gtv 5spd, blue Momo leather
Gone but sorely, sorely missed:
Meteor Grey Gtv Lusso | 17" Teledials | Bilstein rear shocks | Ragazzon straight thru s/s centre exhaust | Some crappy Halfords air filter. Perfect condition and still 220bhp after 95k
