PS: I hope you didn't manage this while doing "lift off" oversteer?
You know me too well! Actually no, this was just a case of not reading the road ahead as well as I should have, I'm afraid. I wasn't even speeding. Strangely, I'd be a lot less upset if I had
been misbehaving - at least then I could say I expected something like this to happen at some point.
The car's being recovered today, and in my inexpert opinion the damage is:
- Front crossmember/slamplate thingy
- Radiator, oil cooler, whatever other bits go there
- Offside wing mirror
I'm hoping the suspension survived the kerb, otherwise that could be it.
If they write it off, I'll talk to them about what could be left out to get the repair cost down. I'd be happy, for example, to buy a bumper and ship it to them (a cup one, maybe) and then get the whole lot painted at my own expense later.
