Veloces of London - Update and Recommendation
So it has taken a while, but I wanted to update everyone on my Veloces of London issues that I experienced before Christmas and how they dealt with my complaint etc...
Essentially, without getting into it too much, I had my car serviced, paid a fair old whack for all the work and wasn't happy to the point where I brought in an external mechanic to look the car over.
When I called them to explain my issues, Veloces arranged a follow up appointment to take a look at the car. I then got a call up saying that their head technician wasn't in at that time/date so that we could rearrange it for midweek to take the car from me.
As this would be awkward I was given a Fiat 500 courtesy car FOC and they even drove out from North London to Bracknell (SW London - 1 hour journey) to pick my car up.
The car was gone a week, but having checked it over, Hiren from Veloces called me up and walked through the main points that had been noted down as a concern or obviously badly fitted (wiper jet facing wrong way etc..). Some of the points were accepted as being correct, some, which were my word/my mechanic's word against theirs, I was given benefit of the doubt (which I know a lot of garages wouldn't accept) and some things were explained in far more detail and I was given the option of fixing now, or as they weren't immediate concern, leaving until they need to be replaced.
For the issues I experienced, additional problems were fixed free of charge: the switch for my rear fog light was fixed, my boot which had been leaking was fixed free of charge and I was given a valet including engine polish also free of charge.
Also, for the additional work that needed doing (unrelated to previous service) I was given a fair amount of discount, and given a good deal on some 16" teledials and red caliper paint.
When I turned up at the garage - i was given a full walkthrough, talk about what I wanted to do with the car in the future in terms of exterior appearance and future repairs possibly needed. Everything was explained in great detail and there was clear concern displayed about the fact I had to bring the car back.
I believe that, while it isn't much of an excuse, the fact that I dropped the car in a few days before Christmas meant that the car probably didn't receive the high quality check over that it perhaps should have received, but they were determined to put this right, as I learnt from the treatment I received in terms of discount and follow up info.
I would have no hesitation recommending Veloces, and intend to do so to my friend who has just picked up a 147. I think there are certain garages that would be content to have a few jobs they do be sub-par quality, but it is clear Veloces are not that kind of garage.
So I am pleased to report that I have my GTV back, it looks and drives better than before and all round I am very happy with the service I received from Veloces!
