GTV fan concern

When my 2 litre GTV,s temp gets to just past 90 the fan kicks in ok but just runs for about 5 seconds, after about 2 mins when the temp builds up again the fan comes on again for 5 secs,it constantly does this and never overheats,is this correct

dunno, but when mine gets to near 90(just touching) it comes on,stays on for about 30secs to a minute and then goes off,if im in bad traffic it will go off and on depending on how long im sat for but its longer than 2minute intervals, maybe 4-5mins

Re: GTV fan concern

All sounds about right - it is coming on, that's the main thing!

Re: GTV fan concern

Maybe your thermo sensor for the fan is faulty, it's actually 2 sensors
in 1, one closes at 92 degres C and opens at 87C (probably the faulty one),
and one closes 97 degres C and opens at 92C, so your car "only"
cools down to 92 degres C (high speed fan) and not all the way down to 87C (low speed fan),
and that giving the short and repeated engagement of the fan, the sensor is mounted on the radiator.
