Re: open spider door
I'm assuming that things are just not frozen up ? A very common condition but the weather here now is way above freezing and would think that it's the same where you are.
Problems with the interior handle are usually caused by a faulty Bowden cable but this would not affect the outside handle UNLESS you have had the door card off recently and that's when the problem begun. If this cable is misrouted or faulty it gives problems with the locks but not, in my experience, with the latches, you can still open and close the door but the locks don't work.
I'm guessing that there may be a problem with the lock assy but have no idea what, maybe a broken link somewhere ?
Can't see how you could remove the door card with the door closed as there are two retaining bolts right on the bottom edge of the card and I think that these are pretty much covered by the sill. On Jamie Porters web site he does say something like " Be careful, it's very difficult to remove the card when the door is closed. " This seems to imply that it can be done but I can't see how.
Sorry I can't be more positive, hope that someone comes along who has resolved this, would certainly be nice to know how.
Good luck, hope you can figure it out.
