Re: Spider Alternator Connection Box
No help to you on locating the connections point but here are a set of Voltage readings that I took on Saturday whilst checking something else out, they more or less conform to yours so it may be a bit of reassurance for you.
Anyway, just done a few voltage checks ( I'd prefer to have drunk some beer but not long to go now though ) and here are the results and my conclusions. Could be a useful table for others if they think they have problems. All measured from the cig lighter socket as this is obviously the easiest place to do it.
Engine Stop - 12.6 Volts DC - 0 Volts AC component.
Engine Idling - 14.6 Volts DC - 150mV AC component. Oddly the DC Volts drop very slightly when revving, this surprised me a little, perhaps I'm more used to Dynamos !
Engine Idling with a Load, Heated Rear Screen, Blower Motor - 14 Volts DC - AC component same.
Alternator working fine.
Battery reasonable but not in peak condition, not surprising as I know it's at least three years old.
Have you seen the Lincolnshire Lounge ? Don't stay off the radar, come on in and have a look !
