In terms of the upgrades... std disks should be fine, especially on the back... but investing in some decent pads would be good, loads of threads about this but the Ferrodo DS stuff seams to be the choice.
Personally I wouldn't bother with braided hoses unless yours need replacing, you're very unlikely to notice any peformance difference... on which note... before spending your money make sure anything needs replacing! On the basis of an advisory after my 156's last MOT I bought new front pads, only to find they were barely half worn! Changed them anyway, but I needn't have bothered, so make sure they're not fishing for work before you shell out!
