I have had my GTV V6 for a week and absolutely love it - how often do you look forward to getting up in the morning to drive to work eh?
When I bought her the injector light was on, fairly normal from having other alfas. I am certain it is the maf. Anyways.....
.....I was driving the other day in jammed traffic and she cut out, she would start for a second and then the injector light would go out and she would cut out again, then the battery was getting low. Got out, jumped her from pack in the boot and checked the charging circuit, seems okay, but with all the lights and heaters on I am using more battery juice than its getting (used a trusty avo meter)
I got the car home and have found that when the engine fan comes on she will cut out, now if the alternator is not 100% I can see how the fan will do this - engine fans draw more current than blackpool pier
and if the ecu can only speak in 12v it won't be happy with this.
I used a new battery and everything seems fine, as long as the battery lasts.
Questions - can the maf, if faulty already, be affected by heat?
Are the alternators reliable on these cars at 63000 miles?
Is the ecu dependant on 12v?
