no start because of key code light - immobilizer ( immobiliser) - aerial
I have been bothering the forum with my GTV not starting at random times due to the key code light not turning off.
Yesterday i had the problem , today it worked. This is new to me, wait some time and try again.
Since I made quite a research on these topics, for future reference i gathered a to TRY list before going to a mechanic/replacing parts.
1. For me it always worked to push the car 50 meters.(3/3) The guy from the helpcenter told me that various aerial signals could block the code, so he often has to push DIFFERENT model cars and the MAGIC, it works.
2.Disconnect the battery, leave disconnected for an hour or so, reconnect, start as usual.
Never tried it. But this has been the most common advice in the forum.
3.Adjust the steering wheel 2-3 times up and down. Sometimes the wires get stuck swhere, so the signal is not receved by the aerial.
Tried it this last time. Didn't work.
4.'disconnect the code reader . You have to remove this small panel under the sterring wheel. After that you have to look out for the code reader which is a yellow box with two connectors going into it from the top. (Disconnect the wires going into this). The box is secured in place with two screws. The right one you can see where the left one you have to unscrew it without being able to see '
Never tried it. But will try it if it ever happens to me again.
5.ECU needs re-setting.Switch the ignition on & leave it on for 30-40 secs. Turn off then start the car.Factory default ECU settings.
I dont know about this. Didint try, or test this one.
6. Take in and out the key, with trying to start 4-5 times.eventually it works.
Tried it didnt work in my case.
7. TRy 3-4 times starting the car. If it doesnt work, wait sometime(dont know specifically) I checked it out the next day and it worked.
These are some magic moves you can try, and hope they work. So far in the 5 cases I had, i saved the situation with either of them. You should be sure that your battery is not dead , because there are a lot of comments saying the battery should be in a healthy condition, if not , then it is with high probability the source of the problem.
