Is this straight forward on a gtv?

Re: Replacing rocker cover gasket on gtv

alloy or plastic top?

not that it matters really, undo the 4 bolts holding the upper cover on, remove the 3 bolts holding the coilpack rail unplug the A/C and lift the whole lot out of the way, then 9 bolts hold down the main cover...

if it is an alloy cover be VERY careful when putting it back not to crack it

Re: Replacing rocker cover gasket on gtv

Replaced my alloy cover a few weeks back, doddle of a job, if you decide to do the plugs while you're in there just go easy on the torque! - that applies to both the plugs and the bolts for the ally cover.

I did spend some time cleaning up the gasket mating surfaces - lots of manky bits of old gasket in there.

Couldn't believe condition of her cams, they looked and felt absolutely flawless.

One other thing - there are two types of gasket available and two types of ally top. I don't think it matters which ally top you get, the differences are very minor, but for the gasket you might need engine/chassis no. and/or month/year of manuf.
