Re: Getting the car Powerflexed: garage recommendations and an idea of ££ please!
Update time: the rear of the car is now Powerflexed!
Had the car at Ned's at Autolusso yesterday and had them fitted, and I've driven the car for a few hours since and so far everything seems good. My biggest concern was of having a harder ride, or crashier ride as the poly bushes are harder than regular OE bushes. So far I have to say I've not noticed any deterioration of the ride, in fact it's better than before, though the previous bushes were 9.5 years old! I've driven over the usual rubbish roads plus A roads and motorways, and the back seems 'tighter', a bit like a new car. It doesn't seem too tight at all, just tighter and more together and sort of makes me feel the old bushes had too much play in them, which I'm sure they did.
I was thinking that if I don't like them I can always get new OE spring pans and change them at some point, but right now I can't see myself doing that even if the parts and fitting were offered to me for free. Now I've yet to really throw the thing around too many corners, but I did a few last night and all seemed well. I'm no racing driver, and I'm sure there's more 'sensitive' drivers out there that have more 'feel' than me, but so far so good for me.
I'll post another update in the future when I've done more miles too.
Hope this update helps a few people.
Many thanks to Ned and I think it was Nick who did the work, highly recommended!
