Re: Battery connectors wont hold pipes to battery
I did my battery last weekend. The terminals are tapered, and so it is possible to slide the connector over the top with the screws done up tight. I found that my positive terminal had become so tight that there was nowhere for the mechanism to go when the screw was turned.
Try loosening the screws several turns, so that the connectors slide right the way down on the battery terminals, and perhaps hold them down so that as you tighten the screw they stay at the base of the post.
They only need to be tight enough to stop the connector sliding off. If you can't twist the connector on the terminal, they're OK.
Loose terminals shouldn't drain the battery though - might be worth having someone check it (the battery)?
