Tensioner, thus engine, failed. New engine?
Hi, I have a 1999 GTV V6, of which the tensioner has just failed, causing the cambelt to jump a tooth and thus bending the valves.
Would it be easier (and cheaper) to try and track down a replacement engine, or buy the replacement parts and have them fitted? I do not know the extent of the damage to the engine other than the valves have bent apparently, nor do I know how many. Would it be likely that other damage has occurred, to the pistons for example?
Either way, can anyone point me in the direction of a replacement engine or parts that are not ludicrously expensive?
Any help and advice greatly appreciated as just about had enough of this car with one thing and another.
