Wheel Nut Tool Required

I need to get one of my back wheels off but unfortunateld I do not have the tool for taking the locking wheel nut off.

Does anybody know where I can get one or any other suggestions.

I don't think I'll be able to knock a smaller socket onto it as I don't think it will work.

Pic of said nut attached

Thanks in advance

Re: Wheel Nut Tool Required

As you say, a socket knocked on or a universal tool with an internal thread are the usual ways, but I'm not sure either would work on that nut. Could you drill it, not all the way in, just enough to tale the head off? The remaining stud should twist out easily once the wheel is gone and tension is off.

Peg type key? Not sure what to suggest, other than arcing a bolt to it, hexagon head outwards? Not sure if there are any tools available for that, but there may be?

i would go to your nearist halfords motorworld alloywheel centre, and have a look at the styles.

they are not all unique,

i used to have that style on my first car.

i just had a look if i still had the spare wheel lock tool no luck sorry

Re: Wheel Nut Tool Required

Bartypuss, I've recently had the same problem with my gtv. Somehow, and god knows how, I lost my locking wheel nut set and went to the main dealers here in Cheltenham. They obviously sold me a new locking wheel nut set but kindly removed my old ones foc. I understand that there are quite a few different styles but they are not unique, if you are lucky your dealer may have a set that they could use to get your old ones off. Can't remember exactly what a new set set me back but it was somewhere near £30 or so. May be worth a call to your local dealer. Good luck.

Try and get hold of a Gator socket if all else fails.
Endeavor Tool - Gator Grip Universal Socket

I'd go to the dealers (if they are an official Alfa locking wheel nut) and say that you want to buy a new set off them if they can get the old one off for you.
