I agree. I'm no expert on this, just using knowledge from here on AO. Basic mechanic knowledge though would lead me to think that any work done on one side should also be done on the other side at the same time. Could be wrong on this so wont be upset if someone who knows better comes on board.........
As to the difference it makes - well read the multitude of Threads on this, some say a big difference, others say not.
For myself, once the time comes,
, I'll be going the OEM route. For one thing I like the original set up and want to keep it, for another the guys I use will NOT fit Poly bushes. They reckon that it does change the handling/ride too much and for another they say that the cost saved in parts is outweighed by the bigger labour costs. Others say different.......
I suppose that if you are both competent and confident enough to do the job yourself then perhaps the cost factor could well sway you towards the Powerflex route.
This is one thing that certainly polarizes people on these cars so in the end it's down to what you think yourself.
EDIT. Another afterthought. Had one front wishbone replaced on mine, cost about £75 all in so perhaps my comments about doing both sides at the same time is not necessarily true for some of the parts but perhaps for others ?
