Sorry MightyMouse, been away from the PC for a few days..... I don't know how it was diagnosed, the local garage did it. But, I would certainly change out the spark plugs, they are probably due anyway. You can tell if the leads are shorting out if you see some grey 'lines' around the leads themselves, where the electricity arcs out of the lead to the engine.
However, I know the garage certainly did not replace all the leads (was a bit confused by this, but as (a) the repair was not expensive, (b) My Czech is atrocious and (c) the car was working again, I left it at that....), and they didn't replace the rotor arm or distribution cap.... which are other places to look at.
