so...there i am in the fast lane of the M2 this evening....and all of a sudden i notice the free revving throttle response....at first i think.."hmmmm, bet that wasnt a design feature of the engine.."
and then it slowly dawned upon me...as i lost power going up an incline.....there was little connection between the transmission and that sweet, now free-revving V6!
i tooled over to the hard shoulder...opened the window...and let the sweet fumes of a buggered and burnt clutch waft up to me...as i sat there thinking, "im a chump...and a tool"!
this is the second clutch burn up ive been directly involved in...the first was in my old Saab 9-3 a few years ago.
I cant believe that its happened.
the chap i bought it off kept warning me before I drove off into the sunset, " take care about clutch slip"....i felt i had heeded those warnings, but i'm now wondering if he knew something then that I would only find out now.
all the same, i dont believe im a terribly aggressive driver, though i do give it some welly when the opportunity arises.
is a V6 Spider clutch normally this fragile?
what is this going to cost me?
what did I do wrong?
