Hi, having gone through the winter for the first time with my Spider I'm really not entirely sure why you would want a hard top for it. It is never cold and certainly not too noisy!
If you treat your roof on a warm dry day with the Autoglymn or the other waterproofing products (some people use tent waterproofing from outdoor stores which is MUCH cheaper) you shouldn't have any probs.
The seals occasionally fill up due to blockage causing an internal leak. I haven't had to fix this myself but I am told a wire coat hanger down the inside of the seal will do the trick.
The only reason I would put a hard top on mine would be to annoy the cat that thinks Bella's roof is the most comfortable place on earth to snooze.. I wouldn't mind but it's a bloomin long haired ginger tom and he leaves half of his coat on the roof!
