Had the 100,00km service for my 99 GTV a couple of weeks ago, no problems up to that point with it.
A couple of days after the service all my cabin lights except the ones on the bottom of the doors stopped working (so the main roof light and the footwell light/s). This morning, had to go somewhere (in a rush of course
), turned the key, turned over a few times slowly (like the battery was low) but wouldn't start, then started making a grinding noise, sort of like when you turn the ignition key when the engine is already running. Tried a few more times and won't even turn over now, just straight to the grinding noise. When left in battery check mode, there is a loud electrical humming noise coming from inside the bonnet. Can't pinpoint exactly where it is coming from but seems like somewhere near the firewall in the middle, half way down.
I've checked the fuse box (as best you can with a clutch sticking into your head) and it all looks fine. All indicators, headlights, horn etc seems to be working. All lights, power options are still working hence my assumption that the battery is not the problem here.
