new GTV owner...
Well I've got a silver 96 2.0TS Lusso GTV with black interior. Condition mint; 72k miles (one fastidious owner for most of it's life). I live in Wellington, New Zealand.
So far I have modified the exhaust... replaced the cat and front resonator with an 18" resonator, and removed the front muffler. The car is a little louder (but not too much) and it doesn't drone.. so this seems to be a good modification. Of course in NZ we don't salt our roads (stainless is pointless) and cats aren't necessary.
So what next?
I find the brakes a bit soft (they work but aren't as responsive as I'd like). From the forum I guess braided hoses and better pads, does anyone know of a decent garage or supplier in Wellington?
It'd be nice to have a bit more grunt, I can't find any common modifications to the 2.0TS motor; is it already tuned to the hilt? Is it possible to get more than 150bhp out of a normally aspirated 2.0l motor without compromising drivablitity by using race cams and lightweight fly wheels etc?
I'll also replace the bushes in due course as this seems a common problem...
The main problem at the most is that the roof lining is sagging. I wanted to install an el cheapo 80's style sunroof... it'll always be in the garage when I'm not driving so who cares about a littel bit of rust if it ever happens. However it seems the fad of the 80's is so gone that no-one installs cheap sunrooves anymore! Anyone with comments?
