rattly vibration from behind steering wheel?!

Hi all
Have noticed one or two threads about dash noises but none seemed to sum up the problem my GTV has just developed. When the engine (2.0) reaches a certain frequency, particularly around 2000rpm in second, a REALLY annoying rattly vibration comes from (it seems) somewhere in the dash behind the steering wheel. It happens in first as well, only within a very specific rev band though, but when accelerating away in second, third upwards goes away completely. Weird. My guess is that something's come/coming loose in the dash somewhere - it started about a week ago and has got gradually worse. It's now so annoying that I can't ignore it.
Has anyone had anything like this? Any ideas? Help!

Re: rattly vibration from behind steering wheel?!

That sounds like your steering wheel is imminently going to fall off, I hope it doesn't do it whilst your driving.

disclaimer: I know absolutely eff all about GTVs
