Re: rear demister not working
Alright folks, see if you can work this one out:
In a post above I mentioned that my demister worked, but I got a burning plastic smell whenever I used it. So Saturday morning I finally got round to looking at it, along with a load of other jobs. First thing I did was check the yellow connector block. No sign of damaged, but snipped and hard-wired in anycase. Tried it again, still burning smell. So next the fusebox - checked my user manual (mine's a 2000) and located the fuse slot and for some reason there was no fuse in there! No idea how power is getting to the circuit?! So I put a 30A fuse in, shut everything up (without checking it) and didn't come back to it until this morning, when I needed to get to work. No power - completely dead, nothing working, suggests flat battery. I'm going to charge the battery when I get back tonight (had to get a lift in with the missus) but what I don't get is:
1. How was power getting to the demister circuit if no fuse was being used? Taking power from another circuit? Would this account for the burning smell? (No sign of any damage on connector or fuse box).
2. What would account for a total battery drain (if this is the problem)?!
Any help would be really appreciated!!!!!!
